I am a poet, or so i'm often told,
Though not so talented or quick witted as one of old.

For i try to craft words and phrases,
To use my wit to turn them into mazes.

Interesting riddles that would captivate a lady so lovely as you,
To show you that when i speak that what i say is true.

I hope that my words can reach inside you, touch you in a special place,
For the act of doing this brings a smile to my face.

To warm your soul in some way is my greatest achievement on any day,
The reward in your eyes far exceeding any pay.

I hope only that to you my words never grow old,
So that i can always warm you inside...despite the grey and the cold.
