I am a romantic at heart, Gothic in the sense of the literature that speaks thematically of love won and lost, of two beings cherishing one another always, and of the eternal flame of passion that burns beyond our time in this world. I get my humor from film noirs of the 40's, my musical interests from the metal bands of the 80's, and my literary taste from books written before the turn of the century (think The Great Train Robbery, the Sherlock Holmes canon, and Frankenstein's Monster). I adore sci-fi movies, horror camp, and period costume dramas on the BBC. Growing up with a brother that is a United States Marine, I'm accustomed to watching action movies, shooting paintball, outdoor activities, and reading comic books. I love wandering through bookstores just as much as graveyards. I've travelled to 11 countries and visited over 150 cities (between 23 states) in the US. Though I have a spirit for adventure and exploration, I'm also quite content staying in curled up on the couch reading a book. I'd describe myself as independent, eloquent, sassy, well-read, obnoxious, sophisticated, nerdy, sarcastic, and occasionally malevolent. I can be very social but also very removed. I find that most people that come in contact with me think I ought to be a certain way, but I rarely feed into their expectations. I do not feed into a stereotype of wanting to kill myself or generally have a perspective of melancholy about the world, but I will dwell on death and I will fall into spells of despondency. I am as complex as any creature upon this earth, and would like to be afforded the luxury of being a mystery.
